In observance of Goiter Awareness Week, the Endocrinology Department of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital organized a forum about goiter on January 25, 2024, at the Basilio Valdez Hall. Alongside this event, the hospital introduced an affordable Thyroid Screening package, aimed at promoting early detection and prevention.

Dubbed “Goiter 101: Prevention, Diagnosis, and Treatment,” the forum delved into the intricacies of goiter, offering valuable insights into its causes, symptoms, and management. Led by the hospital’s endocrinologists, attendees from different barangays gained knowledge on preventive measures and available treatment options for this prevalent thyroid condition.

In addition to the forum attendees were offered a free consultation with Lourdes Hospital’s endocrinologist. This allowed the attendees to address their concerns directly and gain some insight into their thyroid health.
